Inaugural BCLA AGM and Colloquy

From 2014 onwards, the annual general meetings of the British Comparative Literature Association will be combined with a colloquy. The Inaugural BCLA Annual General Meeting and Colloquy will be taking place at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) on 4 October 2014, Saturday. The schedule of events are as follows:

2:00 pm: BCLA Annual General Meeting,

3:30 pm: ‘New Bearings in the Teaching of Comparative Literature’: Seminar with Shane Weller (Kent), Keya Anjaria (SOAS) and Richard Hibbitt (Leeds),

4:45 pm: Refreshments,

5:15 pm: Celebration of the winners of the John Dryden Translation Prize and Arthur Terry Postgraduate Essay Prize,

5:45 pm: Reading by the acclaimed poet and translator Robin Robertson.

All members of the BCLA are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting. All events that will be taking place from 3:30 pm onwards are free and open to anyone interested and not only to BCLA members.
