UCL Translation in History Lectures 2014-2015

The UCL Translation in History Lectures explore the role of key figures and movements in specific historical contexts. The seminars scheduled for Autumn 2014 are as follows:

9 October 2014: Professor Susan Irvine (UCL), Sense and Sensibility? The Prose and Prosimetrical Translations of the Old English Boethius

23 October 2014: Dr Marko Pajević (Royal Holloway, University of London), Translating the Poem: Henri Meschonnic’s Poetics of Translating

13 November 2014: Dr Chantal Wright (University of Warwick), Berman on Benjamin, a Trilingual Translation Journey

27 November 2014: Dr Danielle Sands (Royal Holloway, University of London), Derrida and Translation: Literature, Philosophy, Politics

All events take place from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Archaeology Lecture Theatre, UCL Institute of Archaeology, 31-34 Gordon Square, London, WC1H 0PY.
