BCLA Autumn Postgraduate Reception 2014

We are pleased to announce that the BCLA will be hosting its Autumn Postgraduate Reception on 28 October 2014, Tuesday at the University College London.

The Reception will start at 5:30 pm and take place at the Darwin Building, Room B15. We will have three papers preceded by a keynote lecture delivered by Dr Florian Mussgnung:

Keynote lecture: ‘Re-thinking Genre in an Age of World Literature’ by Dr Florian Mussgnung, Reader in Italian and Comparative Literature, University College London

‘From London to Taipei: Writing the Past in Youyuan jingmeng (Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream) and Mrs. Dalloway’ by Shao-Hua Wang, Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford

‘Aestheticism: An Attempt at a Cosmopolitan Literature?’ by Claire Bitoun, Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford

‘Beyond Borders: A Hermeneutic Perspective on the Cross-cultural Interpretation of Texts’ by Joanna Wilson, School of English, University of Leicester

All are welcome and admission is free of charge.

Our Postgraduate Receptions are friendly seminars that offer postgraduates working in Comparative Literature and related fields the opportunity to present their work to peers and academics and are followed by a wine reception.
