CFP: FROM UNLIKELY BONDS TO VITAL LINKS

From Unlikely Bonds to Vital Links: Storytelling & Symbolic Communities in Global Media Culture

Contributions are being sought for an interdisciplinary book collection on the social dynamics of fictional worlds in narrative culture and storytelling media, to be edited by L.A. Alexander and David Desser. Considered by Routledge, this volume will be subject to approval by the Publisher’s Editorial Board and peer review.

Interested parties should submit a 300-500 word abstract to la42@nyu.edu and contact@storytellingonscreen.com by March 15th, 2016.

(Submission deadline is extended. While we are sorting out the submissions we have already received, we welcome strong proposals and will consider them on a rolling basis until mid-March).

Note, we are interested in any relevant theoretical angle, however prefer that an author takes a comparative approach toward his/her selected case studies rather than focuses on a single text. Preliminary inquiries are welcome. We encourage to contact us with an idea prior to submitting a formal proposal.

Please submit your proposal in the body of email, accompanied by the list of keywords and the author’s short bio. Type “Proposal – Routledge Collection” in the subject line. The authors, whose proposals match the project’s themes and/or methods and are being further considered, will be contacted within a month.
