Every International Translation Day (30 September), English PEN hosts a programme of talks, workshops and networking opportunities for literary translators.
This year, ITD expands into a two-day programme in collaboration with the British Library, with an in-person day at Conway Hall, London, on Thursday 29 September and an online day on Friday 30 September. Tickets for Thursday 29 September are £20, providing admission to all sessions during the in-person programme and the opportunity to sign up for workshops and pitching. Tickets include refreshments during the networking reception at the end of the day.
Tickets for Friday 30 September are £10, providing access to all sessions during the online programme.
A limited number of free bursary tickets are available for self-identifying low-income translators. To request a free ticket, please email will@englishpen.org with the subject line “ITD bursary ticket”.
English PEN and the National Centre for Writing are also collaborating to highlight and promote events and activities taking place across the UK in celebration of ITD 2022.
The ITD nationwide programme will showcase initiatives on an online hub, giving audiences an overview of activities they can attend in the weeks around ITD. Organisers will be given ITD branding materials, and the events promoted through English PEN and National Centre for Writing communications channels.The programme will be available at “Nationwide Programme” on September 9.
